better offers from the club, and maybe felt a bit disrespected after their years of service. Equally though, both players got good money for the time they spent at EFC, and when it came up for review, pragmatism dictated that it would not be a wise use of resources to give them £150k a week each - and quite rightly so.
Good luck to them both but the last couple of months has probably been a bit of a reality check. Previous Message
I doubt doucoure got what he wanted salary wise given how long it took him to find a club, when he did, he’s got himself a 1 year deal.
DCL made all the noises about winning environments and wanting to experience the champions league, ends up at Leeds the day the season starts, despite being a free agent since last season, definite wage cut and hardly a better prospect for European football.
Both could have stayed on decent terms and enjoyed the first season in the new stadium with an improved (quality wise, not quantity wise) squad behind them.
I wonder if there are any regrets!
