What a trip as a long-suffering Wrexham fan. My missus loves the show, I've mentioned to her more than once (pre-TFG) how wonderful it must be to have hope. Previous Message
While not a Wrexham fan, I went to sixth form college right next door to The Racecourse and The Turf was our local pub. My uncle is a lifelong fan and season ticket holder so I do have a soft spot for them, especially knowing the history of the club and what they have been through.
They've had an unbelievable amount of crap thrown at them for 'buying their way to promotion/being a Disney/Hollywood club', but if ever a club was the heart of a community, it's Wrexham, and I don't begrudge them one bit of their success. Previous Message
... we sold him to Ipswich a few years ago, and it seems we're due about £1m from the sell-on clause within that deal
So Wrexham's forward line comprises a choice from nathan Broadhead, Kieffer Moore, Ryan Hardie, Ollie Rathbone (our ex-physio's lad), Sam Smith, Ollie Palmer and Josh Windass
I lived in Wrexham in the early 1980s, and used to walk across to the games at the Racecourse as Wrexham gradually slid down the divisions from the old second division. Very often I was amongst just a handful of fans on the Kop, gates usually below 2,000. I remember one game in the Welsh Cup against Worcester City when Wrexham were too broke to have a back-up keeper for the guy who got injured, and the manager (Bobby Roberts, ex-Leicestar centre half) registered as a player when he was in his forties and played in goal. How things have changed....
