Last time out, a strong finish to the season saw Moyes dip ever so slightly in poll to poll ratings but still record a very high 7.82. Something I failed to notice while posting that last result, is that only Dyche 8.0 (7.46) and Silva 6.0 (7.01) had previously ended the season with ratings above 7 which shows how poor our league form has been for the last 8 years, leaving supporters either indifferent about mid table mediocrity, or unable to celebrate avoiding relegation. Moyes bucked that trend with an impressive series of results in a short space of time, but can he keep up that momentum into the new season?
During the summer months the e rebuild has begun in earnest, with 9 first team squad players officially leaving the club and 5 new men brought in so far, with Jack Grealish being the latest of those and the most exciting signing in years. Of course there are still notable gaps in the squad such as Right Wing, and preseason injuries to Myko and Branthwaite have exposed the lack of depth in quality we have at the back. How much of the credit or blame for our transfer dealings lies at Moyes' feet is up for debate but the incomings and outgoings usually influence fanbase general mood, which tends to have a knock on effect of how they view the manager. So with that in mind, as usual on the eve of the new season, please be upstanding and cast your vote.
