What I would argue as a counter is that both Moyes and Dyche had a decent “manager bounce” impact in their first 10 games each (Moyes more so).
Moyes gained 17 points from his first 10. We scored 17 goals.
Dyche gained 12 points from his first 10. We scored 8 goals.
It’s what then happens after the “bounce” is over that I pay attention to because that to me is what this squad/team really is and when it shows us what it is and it reverts back to its type/level of quality.
The goals dry up.
I get we can turn stats to suit our argument whatever it may be so it all depends how we choose to view things, I totally get it.
We had a period of 1 win in 10 games during Moyes return. The 3 wins at the end of the season put a lovely gloss on things but again I personally pay attention to goals because it’s a good rule to use 1 goal = 1 point approx.
Last 10 games last season we scored 11 and conceded 9. So we’re back to a goal a game levels again. That’s lower half form and that’s to me what this team is/has been.
This is what I pay attention to personally as an indicator of our capability of climbing the league.
My worry based on the business done so far is I’m not sure our goal capability has increased massively to shoot us up drastically and leapfrog teams with the greater firepower levels.
I’m expecting we get a right winger, centre mid and right back still (we really need attacking fullbacks to help increase goal threat IMO).
The squad was starting at such a weak point at the start of the Summer because of the sheer numbers we lost.
If Moyes gets everything he wants from now till the end of the window then only KD-H and Grealish from what we have brought through the door from Alcaraz onwards will still be in his start XI come 2nd Sept in my opinion.
I’m hoping we get another striker as I really feel we’ll need it to meet the higher expectations.
Let’s see where we’re at come 1st Sept anyway and who knows maybe I’ll agree with you

My prediction is based on our form in the second half of last season and the players we've added. Also the number of premier league teams involved in Europe
Ndiaye can play on the right
The Branthwaite injury doesn't help though

One of the best defences in the league has upgraded its attack
The only reason i don't have us higher is because i think we're going to miss Gana and Ndiaye over Christmas for a significant number of games Previous Message

… which is in no way comparable given the respective stadiums tbh
However, let’s say it fell off a cliff, we picked up 23 points away from home last season.
18th place over the last 3 seasons achieve 25, 26 and 34 points.
I’m not sure which of the 3 teams coming up are all of a sudden going to start picking up the amount of points needed drag us into them relegation zone.
We’ve been awful by our standards and finished 23 points ahead of Leicester last season. Previous Message
