Like him coming in and playing poorly then being out injured for 30 games; or playing ok but the team not clicking and results suffering, with him playing every week because as the 'statement signing' there is too much pressure from above for him not to be dropped. Moyes is his own man, but if he drops the big summer signing after half a dozen games because it's not working, I can't see the Friedkins looking kindly on that, and that has a way of focussing the thinking in a certain direction.

As per above, not expecting this to go to either extreme, I think it'll be a limited success in patches. Just not enough that I expect it to have been worthwhile. Neither the extreme optimists nor the extreme pessimists have this right.

I'd love to be wrong and have him lead us to glory.....
