when I was under the impression they had already said that, and we'd offered it.

The CEO's comments now seem to make more sense - it does seem like Saints was £40m guaranteed and we don't want to go over ~£35m.

At the end of the article he throws on a couple of paragraphs on Dibling. I shan't copy and paste as it's firewalled, but the gist is our SINGLE BID of 32m + add ons (not three as reported by sky and others) was rejected and we've backed off, not broken off.

I suspect Southampton thought their would be a fierce bidding war for him and are quite possibly flapping now it appears we're the only buyer.

It will happen.
