Having to be a member may be seen as a downside, but it's what other clubs do. Previous Message
i've seen a few STH moaning about it but to me it seems pretty fair - you get a seat for £38 per match and if you can't use it then the club sells it for £60
surely that's better than having 5,000 less season tickets and those fans having to enter a ballot for a £60 ticket instead
some people think of it as "their seat" though, and expect to give it to whoever wants it Previous Message
the club give the STH the pro rata amount but resell it for the actual price of a match day ticket
So last year they'd have given me a £38 credit and sold it for £60 Previous Message
the ST holder gets a credit of the face value pro-rata amount, the club can then sell the ticket on the resale platform for whatever they can get?
I can see a few thousand tickets per match being offered this way. Previous Message
And season ticket holders will spend less on merch and food, per game, than others
Revenue wise we are therefore being generous with so many season tickets. Presumably to recognise the massive waiting list and reward existing loyalty.
Hence, if a season ticket holder can’t go they have to release their seat to the club who can charge a premium, as opposed to just passing it over to a friend/family. Previous Message
This way you’re guaranteeing revenue, more likely to pack the stadium, plus creating demand for the ~6k walk ups.
Interested in the other side of the coin tho? Previous Message
when you add the 3000 away fans plus comps the club will give out we're probably looking at less than 6000 match days sales per game
For me, the club should have capped season tickets at 30000
There should also have been a better process so season ticket holders who have bought corporate should not also have been able to buy their season tickets
