But there's probably others out there that think even at £45 million, he's a bargain given his potential and possible future sell on.
The best way to look at this is probably to see his fee as £9 million a year as opposed to £45 million, because that is how it will be represented through the books and for PSR.

Southampton are asking for a fee of £45m plus £5m in add-ons, and are hoping to include a 25% sell-on clause in the deal.
25% sell on seems a bit steep
But apparently that will get the deal done
