I'm all aboard with that tactic though. Personally I'd just walk away now. The lad will stink the gaff out in Saints first 5 games and they might have a rethink.

As far as I am concerned this needs to be filed under 'time consuming'
We made an offer and increased it twice to ridiculous money for an unproven 19 year old who has mainly played championship level football with little goal return.
There simply must be better value out there at nowhere near that price.
We need to tell Southampton our latest offer is final and walk away if they prevaricate. We don't need the fuss or delay as the clock is ticking.
If we increase again Southampton will continue to ask for more. They shouldn't be bossing us about.
It's time we took control of this situation unless its all in hand and Moyes happy.
