We must be near the point where Moyes just insists they implement whatever his back-up plan is eg Soucek, Brownhill, Coufal (possibly even Harrison heaven help us) or similar all improve the squad and at least a couple would start so go get them today then carry on chasing a whale or two until the window closes.
It isn’t ideal and it would not really move us forward unless we actually land one or two top targets late but Moyes is pragmatic and competitive so he won’t want to mail it in for a relatively favourable first 3 games before the window closes IMO. Previous Message
or the recruitment team?
Seems we have a lot of deals that take forever and never amount to anything. Previous Message
Lower our aspirations or offer more £. We can do a bit of both providing we manage the £ eg buy 2 rather than 3 and loan/free 4 rather than 3 with a couple lower level wages to make it all work. What we cannot do is carry on as we are and hope somebody blinks late window. The risk of that not working is simply too high. Previous Message
his tone is negative maybe he could soften that a bit, but all he is saying is its really hard.
I think what people are struggling with is...it makes no differnce at all that we need players so much, it makes no difference at all that we know getting tem in late hinders the start of te season, none of it changes the fact tat selling clubs and players want to wait, or dont want to come it all.
The ONLY way our undoubted need could spped up te process, is if we setlled for shit.
You can get bodies in quick, if you will take anything, getting the players you want (either want a lot, or want a bit) takes time.

Will his words help attract players? it could be the opposite.
I'm not sure what he is trying to do tbh, he seems rattled and throwing the recruitment team under the bus will not help his cause imho.
