Once a trend of rejections became clear we should have moved on earlier.
All last seasons squad needed was a rw and rb to consolidate midtable. That may sound unambitious but we need to be realistic just because we've new owners and a new stadium were not turning into CL challengers over night.
A couple of years of steadying the ship so we become a solid midtable team that doesn't flirt with relegation albut challenge the lower euro places.
Once we've done that then we can start looking at the top talent to take us to the next stage.
Not exciting but we need to accept that we are not the club we all grew up with.
Hopefully I'm wrong and Luiz comes through the door quickly followed by fofana and Maitland Niles.

Trying to bring in so many and also raise the quality is clearly proving difficult.
Add trying to settle into a new stadium.
Still time and let’s hope we can still pull off a few surprises but we may have to settle further choices further down the list.
Remains to be seen if that can placate the over inflated expectations of many fans for this forthcoming season….. Previous Message
