There’s no way we would’ve bid for him unless we’ve already spoken to his agent/management team and received some encouragement that the player would be interested in joining us. At the minute we’re an option for him, but he’s obviously waiting to see who else bids.
I think we might get him. But it will most likely be towards the end of the window.

Ndiaye Alcaraz Fofana Barry/Beto would be a pretty solid attacking line up. Previous Message
coupled with the comments and speculation around some of the players we've either reportedly put bids in for or have shown an interest in.
I think it's clear that Moyes and the board have specific targets who they want to bring in. And they're prepared to wait to see if they can get them. It seems to me that they also have alternatives lined up if they fail to get their main targets. This is absolutely the right thing to do.
My frustration during this window is that i think we've got/had 5 windows during this transfer window. 30th June, Before the players returned for preseason, before we headed to the states, before the start of the season and before the close of the window.
Based on what Moyes has done previously, the window i wanted us to sign the players i think we needed most desperately, at least one RW, a RB and Striker, was before we headed to the states. We've missed that for 2 of those 3 positions mentioned. Because we missed the USA window, i'm in no rush to bring anyone in now, i don't think it will make much difference to the first few starting XI's. If waiting till the final week means we get Fofana for example because no champions league team is in for him, it's worth waiting for.

...and I still am! If this is still our squad on September 2nd then I would probably be a little disappointed, but I'm still fairly confident that it won't be so I don't see any point getting worried about it.
Am I 100% confident that by Septemebr 2nd we'll have strengthened all the positions that we need to strengthen? No.
But I'm 100% confident that the club will try their very best to do so within the limitations that they're operating under - and that's in itself is a massive change from the previous regime. Previous Message
I was where you are, maybe worse after giving up my st became totally apathetic about all things everton.
Moyes returning and the upturn in Form coupled with the goodison farewell and finally getting into bmd has dragged me back in .
In all honesty I like many was expecting a better summer of recruitment with the new owners.
Probably where I differ from most is that although would have liked the top tier signings I was quite happy to gradually improve with the next level signings or at least a capable rm and rb to be added to what we had.
We have a decent back bone and some decent flair players we just needed to balance the team.
We're not turning into prime barca overnight and a gradual rebuild with a blend of young talent and seasoned pros should see us in the upper reaches of the league from where we can push on. Previous Message
with regard to our signings.
Maybe the hope has been beaten out of me over recent years & inexcusable additions like FatWaiter, but I can’t think of anything that’s surprised me since Ancellotti?
I reckon the last eyebrow raiser player signing was Kanchelskis?*
Admittedly, maybe I need to resubscribe to Shoot because I’ve never heard of half the players people seem to be excited about when we get linked.
Personally I’m now in the zone where it-is-what-it-is whether we sign players or not, so it’s all upside for me😎
* in hindsight Rodriguez, but I didn’t know much about him on arrival.
