As good a goalkeeper as we could possibly hope for
3 good centre backs
Gueye, Ndiaye, McNeil, Alcaraz are all quality
Beto is a competent PL CF and we have an exciting new signing to share the burden with him.
Yes we need RB, RW and CM and the sooner the better.
But I would much rather we go into the season with a small, core squad that we can add to with targeted signings rather than a bloated and expensive squad full of transfer flops that we need to sell before we can buy.
And I’m sure Moyes would prefer that as well!
We’ve always been at our best with a smaller squad and everyone on the same page.
Hopefully some good team building happening now in NY. Previous Message
Whilst a little disconcerting in relation to squad building, I trust the process and I have faith in Moyes delivering a competitive team.
I choose to be positive and I am quietly confident we will see decent recruitment in the coming weeks.
We know TFG have built a solid foundation which will see us in a much stronger position going forward.
The key is to make us stronger on the pitch and have a genuine threat from the bench.
Thankfully we have a solid base ìn defence and a promising new striker. We all know that we are desperate to improve the right hand side of the
team and I am sure that this is a key focus. Time will tell.
Due diligence will have been completed and a preferential list will have been drawn up. I am more worried that Tarks and Branthwaite won't be fit for the Leeds game.
TFG have stabilised the club, recruited well in key areas, and have a clear strategy to rebuild our historic club.
Yes, we are a million years away from the Top 4 and some lower teams have recruited well, however other mid table teams have lost key players (Brentford, Brighton etc).
Our transition will take several windows to be truly competitive. For now, enjoy the ride.
