I think just being post strokes Paul Quinn should be all he aspires to be but he has always been more driven than me so whether it will or not time will tell. Nothing written here that I haven’t/wouldn’t say to his face. His intentions were genuinely good, his execution was damaging to himself and others. It is best for him and us for him to move on with his life. Previous Message
...and you will obviously have a different opinion to me, but my one and only direct involvement with him confirmed everything I thought about him and that was me done with him.
When I joined the FAB, he tried to get involved with a live Twitter space we were doing very early on. He messaged and said that he'd like to speak on it, which we were - collectively - very wary of, as he'd been less than complimentary about the FAB in the past and we felt that there was an agenda at play, plus we already had a planned agenda.
Having never dealt with him directly before - I thought I would put aside my previous perceptions of him and give him the benefit of the doubt and a clean slate... I exchanged a few messages with him ahead of the event, he explained what he wanted to talk about, and I explained why we didn't want to take things in the direction that he wanted it to go, but that he was welcome to join us anyway. He said that was fine and that was that.
When we did the Space we mainly hosted and took it where we wanted to, with various FAB members talking about the FAB and our work. We had some time left at the end so I invited others to speak and he requested to speak, so again I gave him the benefit of the doubt...only for him to completely ignore the conversation we'd had and said what he'd wanted to say anyway - which then caused arguments and basically ruined the whole event.
Afterwards he then clipped and selectively edited the sections he'd been involved in and put it out on his own channels to show his acolytes how brilliant he was - thus proving everything I had thought about him and more.
So that was it for me, and for the FAB - anything he sent into the FAB from that point on (and he sent quite a lot) was just blanked as he clearly had his own agenda and we collectively decided that we weren't going to entertain that. Previous Message
When he was just Paul Quinn! We are chatting next week. He has had a tough ride with a devastating series of strokes that nearly killed him. It is good to see him back posting more regularly even if the strokes have diminished him. I am glad to see him phasing out his internet persona as well as it was unhelpful.
P.S. If anybody cares he is correct on this. Previous Message
Do you mean "Paul Quinn, known as The Esk to Evertonians"?
I think people should afford him his full and official title when referring to him - it's only right and proper... Previous Message
The Friedkins ability to inject fresh capital is not a get out of jail free card re future spending. It just means the cost of capital is born by the Friedkins not the club unlike a shareholder loan.
The same limits apply on how much we can spend. Those limits linked to our P&L.
Having said that we have considerable headroom particularly when this season's increased turnover is taken into account.
The Friedkins willingness & ability to fund us is fantastic but as my Analysis Series shows we still face significant challenges against the bigger clubs.
