If we are reasonable we can see Moyes’ attention to detail in things like training sessions at the new stadium and at least one additional behind closed doors friendly to try and get the squad as familiar as possible with their new surroundings. He has a certain way of doing things that takes time and this translates into squad building as well.
Given where we are in the current pecking order we are going to “miss out” on lots of players who will have options with currently more successful or richer clubs. Moyes’ tendency to want to gather as much information as possible and have multiple personal touch points with targets seems unlikely to be a significant complicating factor but that is just my view.
Overall, what matters is our starting 20 come opening day and the 25/26 minimum come end of window (given AFCON will hurt us in late December/January). How we got there will be forgotten if the destination proves attractive. Previous Message
As our manager is such a ditherer when it comes to to transfers no, not thoughtful, not diligent, not aware that getting to know a player is as important as the stats......a ditherer.
There must be a massive long list of players that we missed out on because of his dithering......players we could afford, would have signed, went on to do great things....just not with us because of Daves dithering?
I suppose the alternative is, his cautious, thoughtful way of doing business is part of the reason for him HUGELY over achieving with us last time and not a hinderance at all?
