Sat next to a girl at a lunch a few years ago & we got talking about music.
She asked me if I’d ever played
“Only school band stuff, we never even got as far as a gig. What about you?”
“Yeah, only just given up. Played for years”
“Play anywhere big?”
“Main stage headline, Glastonbury”
Eh?????
Turned out she was Bramwell’s x girlfriend (“the first 2 albums are about me…”) & she wrote all the string parts for Elbow. She played with them in the headline slot.
I kept quiet about music for the rest of the lunch….
