Football authorities trying to address a legitimate concern (having 2 or more clubs with a shared ownership in the same competition and preventing any possible corruption) but doing it with rules that are laughable.
Just look at Mariankis waddling onto the pitch at at Forest to give their manager a public telling off. He's complied with their rules but quite clearly he still calls the shots.
Same thing with PSR. They're trying to stop clubs overspending and going bust but in reality all those rules do is protect the wealthier clubs from being usurped. Previous Message
sell in certain circumstances? Previous Message
Palace were in the 5th round of the FA Cup and Textor had been trying to sell his stake. If he puts it in a blind trust he wouldn’t have been able to do so. Previous Message
by putting Forest in a ‘blind’ trust. Palace did nothing before the deadline and are now crying having effectively mounted no defence expecting UEFA to just let them off as they’re in the process of sorting things out. Previous Message
failing to meet the deadline to submit a case for an exemption under the multi club ownership rules but I cannot but think the outcome would be different if they were a more powerful club. The football authorities love a bit of performative punishment of clubs that do not drive their commercial deals. To be fair to UEFA they do occasionally take a pop at bigger clubs but almost always lose the lawyer wars. Palace will appeal. Previous Message
...very very harsh on them and their fans (even though they still have European football)
