The Portuguese police update is pretty damning. I feel sympathy for his brother (the passenger), their parents and Jota’s wife and kids. For Jota less so as it seems it was caused by his reckless speeding possibly combined with the bad luck of a puncture (unconfirmed, still under investigation)l As a Dad I don’t have much sympathy for a parent carrying on like a boy racer, driving at a speed that was irresponsible for anyone let alone a father of three kids. It is lucky nobody else was hurt. Not that any of that will prevent the reds canonising him. Previous Message
firstly it is sad jiota and his brother died.
it now appears they were absolutely flooring the car. could be up to double the speed limit.
again its sad when anyone dies. i feel for his family and kids. its terrible.
but perhaps the beatification of him can be put to bed now. at that speed he could have killed many people. at best dangerous driving but it could have been worse.
I had a red mate say that everyone makes mistakes driving and it shouldnt be held against him.
I expect the same empathy and consideration will be applied to the bloke who was having his car smashed up at the lfc parade.
oh hold on....
