Right for him, financially. And we should never have matched what he was after / got.

Right for us, in a position we need to upgrade. He’s a central midfielder who’s been converted to playing behind the striker because he’s not good enough / disciplined enough to play in central midfield. But his scoring / creation record hasn’t been great, either, and his all round play is patchy.

With Alcaraz and Harrison Armstrong coming through, plus being able to play Ndiaye / McNeil in that position, as well, we’re well placed now to move on.
