There is no doubt that Fabrizio gets his information from agents, who have their own reasons for telling him what they do.

I suspect Everton is quite often used as a carrot to dangle players to a wider market. I am not suggesting Fabrizio is lying, he is merely passing on what he is told, and is a therefore conduit for others.
