Some of the bile directed towards him (and his wife) by some of our fanbase regarding some of his ventures outside of football and in response to his injury situation has been nothing short of horrific (and I'm sure the same neanderthals will be making similar comments at this news) so I'm sure that will have rightly been a large factor in his decision as well.

I think this is for the best and I wish him (and his family) well for the future - preferably outside the PL as we all know what will happen when he comes back to play against us.
