Some years back, my football lot and I used to head to a pub in Old Street, London, after we’d played 6 a side. Every Friday night. There was a nice girl called Debbie who was one of the bar staff there. She’d just finished college and reckoned she was a drummer. I used to be fairly involved in music and told her I’d give her a shout if I ever needed a drummer for any projects. She gave me a sort of wry smile. I didn’t think any more of that until one day I switched on the tv and there she was playing some mega stadium venue in Charli XCX’s band! Been touring the world with her for years apparently.
