I'm a fan but he is limited and it's hard to see that hot streak he had last season being repeated with any sort of regularity.
He does however contribute a lot to the side and his minutes per goal rate for last season was more than respectable. It might have been tempting to think it made more financial sense to keep DCL and sell him - in January this seemed more likely. But he stuck at it and changed a few opinions, all credit to him for that.
We want to bring in high calibre competition for places, players who will force their way in to the side. If Barry falls into that category (can't say I know a lot about him) then Beto may have to settle for something in between being on the bench every week like he did with Dyche and starting every game like he's been doing under Moyes.
The kind of character he is, he should be up for the battle to keep the shirt and it should benefit the team. Previous Message
Could be a goer this.
Not sure how i feel about this to be honest. He's obviously highly rated and his goal scoring record for his age is decent. But if we're spending £35 million does that make him automatic first choice? Personally, i know some wont agree, i think Beto should be our first choice regardless of who we bring in.
So, this happened. But it is what it is, until it isn't.
