Oh absolutely. My point was more about there being no guarantees and sentiment. If he starts shite, he's out, and the new fella is in. We've been far too softly softly as a club for far too long.

Whoever has the better pre-season should be first choice, and whoever performs best during the season should be first choice.

There's no time for sentiment for teams that are trying to push on and actually achieve something tangible.

And the same goes for absolutely every position all over pitch.

Not sure how i feel about this to be honest. He's obviously highly rated and his goal scoring record for his age is decent. But if we're spending £35 million does that make him automatic first choice? Personally, i know some wont agree, i think Beto should be our first choice regardless of who we bring in.
