In the cases of Trump and Farage, we have clear evidence that their actions and ideas make things worse and yet one has been re-elected as POTUS and the other enjoys ever increasing popularity and influence in the UK with the chances of him being in government in some way, possibly as PM, after the next election at all time high. Even after all his Brexit predictions crumbled to dust and made us all worse off.
