All we know is that certain people (Fabrizio Romano) had been briefed that we’d offered a contract. Presumably Tete’s agents to draw out a better offer from Fulham.
So a good example of why nothing is done until it’s done, and that there’ll be lots of ups and downs this summer given how much work we have.
If he chooses us, that would be a pretty strong indicator that we’re on the up. If he chooses Fulham it’ll be a shame that we’ve been played a bit, but not much we can do. He’s injury prone, so maybe we can do better anyway.
I just hope we don’t get into a protracted bidding war and end up dishing out a silly contract for someone who’ll spend a lot of the next 3 years picking up wages from the treatment table.
