Yeah, our accent and the Deep South drawl are deffo different bed fellows. I honestly believe our accent and our quick retorts allowed me to get things done quickly that usually took ages.
Apart from 3, all of the lads in my team were from Southern Louisiana or Texas, my lasting “gift” to them was the word “shite”, after about 12 months of being together, I would ask questions about the job and almost all of the replies included “shite”….”How's it going son ?” “It’s shite Mart “! Or “y’all need to get these Shite construction swinging
dicks on the the right route, cause they are shite”.
I still keep in touch with a few of them and they are still using the adjective that today.
