Kieran is a "football finance expert" as it says in the article, but to add a bit more meat to that he's a qualified chartered accountant who now lectures in Finance & Accounting at Liverpool University whilst also doing lots within the football/media world and he also does the Price of Football podcast with comedian and Crystal Palace fan Kevin Day.
He's a Brighton fan, but he has worked in Liverpool for 30/40 years, and having met him and done some work with him for the FAB (see one example below), I'd say that he has a very soft spot indeed for Everton, and (as a self-confessed business/finance dunce) he's one of my go-to people that helps to explain things in a way that I can understand and make sense of.
He's absolute passionate/obsessed with football finance and is constantly analysing (I assume "publicly available" rather than "inside track") facts and figures from up and down the football league to try to make some sense of them.
Personally I think he usually does a pretty good job of that, and doesn't seem to pull any punches in his analysis (so I'd certainly hold a lot more stock in what he says, over people like "Professor Tom Cannon" who was a Kenwright acolyte that for some reason some media outlets used to wheel out to talk about EFC finances and who usually talked absolute nonsense due to his loyalty to BK!)

That’s all according to this: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cjd2lzkjvl1o
Looks like a mission impossible to me. We need around 10 new squad members and you won’t get much of a PL player for 5-10 mio.
Hopefully it’ll be sorted somehow next month.
