I know I have to change it, and the whole club needs to expect to start to expect to win at every level. I'm genuinely hopeful that our new owners won't accept excuses, BS or being gallant losers.

is shameful, I believe its a defence mechanism to be angry and negative about everything and then you will be less disappointed when seemingly positive things don't materlialise.
Whole culture of the club and fan base needs to change but that will only happen once it happens on the pitch and to some extent off it.
I knee jerk every now and then so I can appreciate it but I am truly genuinely excited that we may finally be on a path to find the tunnel at which there might be a light at the end of it.

The squad needs a huge rebuild to get it anywhere near competitive enough for Europe and that isn't going to happen in one summer.
However, we have seen Moyes work wonders before and the signs from the end of the season were positive.
Alcaraz over a full season should help contribute more goals and assists, Beto appears to be improving and if we can avoid the long injuries we got to McNeil and NDiaye this time around all will play a part in improving goals without any external spend, which we all know needs to happen.
We need to get lucky with signings, the market we are able to shop in means there will likely be more misses than hits but if we can find a gem somewhere in there and hopefully get lucky with a couple of loans then its not inconceivable that we could be closer to the likes of Brentford, Fulham, Brighton etc.
It's the hope that kills you, but its why we all love football, not one of us would have predicted Spurs and United to finish below us last season so who knows what might happen.

There’s always outlier teams (Spurs this year scoring loads of goals but with low league position , whilst Sheff Utd and Burnley did the reverse a few years back with chronically low goals but high league position) but the 1 goal = approx 1 point works for 75% of the league.
We’ve been solid as a tactic last couple of years because we can’t score goals.
I hope we get a level of signing that can add big creative numbers and goals. I’m just saying it’s a huge task and for me I’m realistic. I won’t be panicking if (as I expect) we’re bottom half next season.

You could win all 38 games and only score 38 goals.
As such it’s much more complex and must include goals conceded as a parameter at least and we’re pretty good at that.
As such, maintain our good goals conceded record and an improvement in goals scored will see us gain more league places and won’t be a reliance on goals scored alone.
But you’re correct in your overall message, we need more goals and from all over the pitch but also Moyes games be Dyche games saw huge improvements in that area already so potentially there are already steps in the right direction in place before any transfer activity.
I’m optimistic that somewhere between 8-12 is where we can easily reach, weakling of other teams is going to help bring them down a level, if we can keep our big assets (Branthwaite and Gueye the key ones) and add a few decent players I think that bracket is more than achievable and possibly beyond with a bit of luck, good form, low injuries etc.

There seems there’s an expectation that the Summer will bring in a whole new revamped team that will be filled with of goals and creativity and rocket us into the top half of the league.
I think it’s nigh on impossible to make such a big leap. It’s not the league position of 13th we should concentrate on, it’s the number of goals we score.
We were the 4th lowest scorers last season with only the 3 relegated teams scoring less than us. In 23/24 we were the 2nd lowest scorers and also 2nd lowest in 22/23.
Look at the league table attached here and the correlation of goals scored vs points won. In most cases it’s 1 for 1 i.e. 1 goal scored is 1 point earned.
Over the last 3 seasons, you need to score approximately 60 goals to secure a Top 10 finish.
We’ve averaged 38 goals over the last 3 seasons.
So if you believe we can “challenge for Top 10” what in effect you’re saying is we can go from a team that’s more or less averages 1 goal a game to one that average 1.5 goals a game and approx add 20 goals on top of what we usually score.
Think about that for a minute.
We’re potentially expecting a whole raft of new players to come in and gel together quickly in a new stadium and outperform all previous seasons since 16/17 when we scored 62 goals and Lukaku got 25 of them.
I say it’s nigh on impossible to make such a big leap in a year of transition.
I’d gladly take 13th again whilst hoping to improve our goal output to be more in line with points earned. We’ve got a huge amount of points for our goals scored these last 2 seasons.
What about you? Are you really expecting an avalanche of goals and a Top 10 finish?
