It is not unusual to hear Irish accents become anglified after years living in London. I have worked with a guy who spent 3o years in London and returned home to Kerry to get roasted about his 'Cockney Irish' accent.
Brosnan is from Kildare and his natural accent is nowhere near the Kerry brogue, but I think his performance is OK if you take into account that his character has probably spent most of his life in London.
Some Irish emigrants never lose their Irish accent, but many adopt the local idioms. Lets not forget that in the 70's and 80's having an Irish accent in the UK was a red flag to certain groups*.
*our lovable neighbours had quite a cohort of 'L.O.L' tattoo'd fans and were not too fond of Fenians.... losing your Irish accent was a survival tactic.
