He was after a raise on his £100k a week. I'm not sure he's a cheaper option at any point given his goalscoring stats.
I actually like him, but I think we're probably well shut of him. In the few minutes he's been on the pitch recently it's clear he's been going through the motions.

Yes and no.
The main disappointment of him going, for me, is that that's one more piece of expensive transfer business that probably needs doing now (transfer fee etc.) as opposed to the cheaper option of signing DCL up for a further few years at whatever wage, which would have allowed us to put funds towards other parts of the squad.
