I'm assuming because of the 49ners Group having recently taken over, they saw a lot of potential for long term impact Previous Message

His work at Everton was more than a decade ago. All recent evidence of his recruitment (if it was primarily him) is very patchy at best
I don't think it's a viable modern system to use his methods from a decade ago.
I would love to be proved wrong. I think the Friedkins weren't expecting Dan Purdy to leave and expected he'd be Head of Recruitment in a flatter scructure. It seems his team has also been mostly disbanded or have left too (there was a recruitment guy we had poached from Brighton last year who also decided to leave).
We haven't appointed a replacement and have brought in the former Leeds transfer consultant ad a temporary measure.
That's what is giving me some concerns about what infrastructure for recruitment we actually have in place right now - at a critical time. Previous Message
Do you not think he has a version of his 'war room' as he did in his first spell?
I'm confident that the players he was looking at for West Ham would also be more than good enough for Everton. Do you reckon he just stopped all of that when he was out of work for a few months? Previous Message
My concern is the current gap in the current recruitment setup at Everton. Previous Message
Of those three Forest signings you've never heard of, you'll still never have heard of at least two of them by the time they leave. Previous Message
Never heard of them, but their scouting and recruitment has been very good recently.
V concerning that we still don't have a proper setup in place.
