I think in all fairness that Lineker did go a bit further than BBC employees should go in sharing his personal feelings, but when it's something as serious as this...

great player, great presenter. All good things must come to an end, just a shame it had to be somewhat premature because he told the truth about Israel's continued genocide in Gaza and was inevitably smeared by the usual suspects as an antisemite as a result.
He may be a hate figure in right-wing media circles but he's always seemed to be one of the good guys to me.
So, this happened. But it is what it is, until it isn't.
