My hibernation used to be at least partly because of my hatred of those Reds, but above all it is a question of time consumption. Looking for any snippets of gossip about Everton for umpteen hours a day is something that I can’t afford, and being an Everton addict, I think this is the safer way. Of course I often think about if/when to visit the new stadium, but I’m not in a hurry.

Think you basically said at one point that his career didn't deliver as much as it promised which was pretty brave, even done remotely! 😄 Fair point though. Was nice to hear the story about your daughter writing to him when he was inside and him saying that the support of Everton fans helped to keep his spirits up and was part of him bonding with the club. Undoubtedly a tough guy who could look after himself but he freely admitted it was a scary experience at the age of 19/20.

Thanks for that. Interesting to see what the new stadium brings with it. I don’t mean the matchday experience (will be quite different), but how quickly Everton can make the place our own on the pitch. The fans have always been Everton’s best asset, and sooner the fans can claim the ownership of the new stadium, the better. Previous Message
started out with hope that we would at least avoid another relegation scrap, 4 straight defeats made that doubtful. Saga over the ownership dragged on and on and at times it looked like the club was in serious danger of going down the plughole, just avoided being taken over by a bunch of crooks known as 777 Partners who thankfully went bust before they got their grubby hands on the family silver. Dyche ended up looking like a broken man and still stubbornly refused to change a style of play that was as dull, negative and ultimately ineffective as I've ever seen from an EFC side.
With the new owners in and Moyes instigating an astonishing turnaround in results and performances from a group of players that looked incapable of achieving them in the first half of the season, the outlook now seems more positive and more sustainable than it has done than at any time probably this century at least - even in Moyes' first spell he was operating with one hand tied behind his back, and the less said about the Moshiri years the better.

In fact I came out of my hibernation for one game the second season in a row. Last season it was because my lovely, crazy family hijacked me to Goodison, and this time it was to watch the Grand Old Lady Farewell Party. How could I have let that go without watching?
I see Moyes has been reappointed, and for once we weren’t facing the 2nd division on the last day of the season. Obviously the team is breaking up, but what will follow? Will Friedkin pay for a proper rebuilding of the side? Previous MessagePrevious MessagePrevious Message
