...after his ban, he used to play in any game that he could find under a false name, so that the authorities didn't find out, and my dad saw him a few times after his ban playing alongside his brother-in-law for Crawfords Biscuits! He said that TK could hit a ball harder than anyone he'd ever seen and that he scored a goal in one of those games from about 40 yards that was about 3 feet off the ground when he hit it, and at the same height as it hit the net!

In later years, after Tony got together with Becky Tallentire, my son Alex was interested in his story and wrote about him while at uni, for which we got hold of a copy of The Fix (possibly through Becky and possibly signed by Tony - I'm not sure!) - it's not great but it does star Jason Isaacs (as Kay), with Steve Coogan as a journo and Colin Welland as Harry Catterick! I keep in touch with Becky and see her often at St Luke's and had a quick chat at the recent Heritage Society event for Derek Temple.

The only other thing that my dad said about TK is that when it all broke in the papers (the Sunday People) they were serialising it and at one point said that some more players would be implicated the following week, including Liverpool's Ron Yeats - but that never materialised! Some things don't change!
