Not all that long surely. They started at Anfield when we did at Goodison but not in division one for 2 years. They've been in second division 11 times, we've been down 4 seasons I think.
I've probably made some error in reasoning but hopefully we'll still be knocking about when our old ground overtakes. Not sure about Villa. Previous Message
Just been thinking about this, I wonder if any stadium will ever overtake the number of top flight games held at GP, which ground it might be and if so when?
Villa Park is a candidate. But, I think it might be Anfield (which is fitting in an ironic kind of way). I think they might overtake GP at some point, but I'd guess it will be at least 30 odd years before they do. That lot have played a good few seasons out of the top flight and the clock starts ticking for a few years after 1892 as they started off in Division 2. The unknown of course will be if any candidates decide to move (Man Utd, for example).
Just a bit of fun for the statisticians. I'll be pushing up daises by the time it happens in any case.
Might be a record that stands for all time.
