Liverpool goals scored 85. Points 83.
Arsenal goals scored 67. Points 71.
Man City goals scored 70. Points 68.
Newcastle goals scored 68. Points 66.
And it goes on and on for the vast majority of the league. Take a look for yourself how this pattern works and how closely they are related.
Of course there are always 2 or 3 outliers every season but the 1 goal scored = 1 point earned rule works the majority of the time.
Last season we scored 40 and got 48 points.
This season 41 and have 45 points.
Our shortage of goals giving us a maximum (and more) return. That can’t keep continuing forever.
2nd lowest goals last year and also the season before.
So when you see Blues say “we should be Top 10” or “we need to go for 8th and Europe” you need to pay attention to the goals you need to score to obtain those positions in the table.
To get 10th now you’re talking an absolute minimum of 55 goals at the very least if you’re lucky.
This season we have 41. Last season 40. Previous seasons lower.
So when you see our Summer business ask yourself how many goals we’re potentially adding and set your expectations accordingly.
We’re a low scoring but relatively solid team. Can you increase goals and stay as solid?
Over to TFG and Moyes. Previous Message

Last season we were 2nd lowest and season before 2nd lowest too.
Man Utd will rise and Spurs (who have scored 63 goals) will be top half again next season with a new manager.
If Gana Gueye leaves as well as Doucoure then I think we have a mammoth task ahead.
So many new faces needed whilst trying to settle into a new ground too.
Moyes has a huge task this Summer

When you consider our position a few months back. Even more recently I thought 15th or 16th was our ceiling, so well done blues/Moyes. Previous Message
13th place would be a great finish and worth 12 million more than 17th - that's Alcaraz's fee.
