 Previous Messagewhere, provided you are online, anyone can say anything to anyone. We basically have two choices, do everyting we can to remove the option of annoymity, and/or spend the billions needed to police it well, that probably makes the model untenable financially. There is a second option, and that is to pretty much accept that if you open yourself up to the entire world, you will get abuse, becaise there will always be dicks. That second option sounds really harsh and pretty unappealing, but we all know its the one based in reality. Previous Messageor surveillance or even just the actual cost of having people do the work involved are too great, and those are reasonable arguments. But tolerating a system where people can be cruel and abusive and bullying with no cost to themselves, while making money for Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, is itself not without costs. I don't have an answer but I think society needs to come up with one. Previous Message...but same with all of these stories about online abuse, there isnt anything that can be done really. The only way it stops is if there stops being knobheads in the population, and that doesnt sem likely. I suppose you could try and remove all anonymity from the internet, but that comes with its own probelms. Again I dont think they should have to accept it, that sounds like such a shit thing to say to people getting abuse.....but...you sort of do have to accept it, you dont have to have an online prescence but when you do, you open yourself up to the world, and the world is full of dickheads.
