I asked him what it meant. He explained, and I remembered I'd heard it in Steptoe and Son - "he's an iron hoof". His response was that Wilfred Brambell himself was "bent as a nine bob note".

suggests to me that he'll be looking to add some of the more mature west ham rejects. I'm guessing Coufal and Soucek.

Good news about Coufal (who was a very good right back) is that he came out last week and said that he's still disappointed that West Ham refused to sell to Fulham in January and is hoping to move the cottage now. Him and his family want to stay in London. I think his lad plays for West Ham juniors.

I know we still have Newcastle, but we're just fulfilling our premier commitments now.

I'd love us to get our business done early. We've always had our best seasons when we've got our signings done early doors. We must know where we'd like to improve and who we want.

Just watching Man Utd agree terms with Cunha and Liverpool agreeing deals for Frimpong and Kerkez. They're not fucking about and taking no time to fix problems in their squads asap. I hope our days of waiting till later on in the window and being left behind are in the past.
