Otherwise, what a great day. After more than 60 years going to Goodison, it’s all over. I wasn’t as emotional as I expected, but the violinist did get to me - so poignant.

... When I got to my seat someone had made off with my scarf. Likewise, my son gave his to a lad who'd had his nicked. To be fair I didn't particularly want it but pretty sneaky thing to do I thought.
Anyway, minor thing on a lovely, lovely, final day in the sunshine after a half century or so for me, three decades plus for my son and daughter and about a decade each for my grandchildren.
