After advertising that the bars would be open to sell alcohol after the game, which you could take back to your seats, there was none available in Upper Gwladys. No food left either. I appreciate this is Sodexho rather than the Club, but dreadful organisation.

Otherwise, what a great day. After more than 60 years going to Goodison, it’s all over. I wasn’t as emotional as I expected, but the violinist did get to me - so poignant.

Onwards and upwards now. Let’s make new memories at the HDS.

... When I got to my seat someone had made off with my scarf. Likewise, my son gave his to a lad who'd had his nicked. To be fair I didn't particularly want it but pretty sneaky thing to do I thought.

Anyway, minor thing on a lovely, lovely, final day in the sunshine after a half century or so for me, three decades plus for my son and daughter and about a decade each for my grandchildren.
