As for the keepers, I expect Virginia wants to be first choice somewhere and from what he's shown, he is good enough to take on that role, probably for a team playing in a top division somewhere in Europe. Maybe off back to Portugal? Good luck to him. Begovic is maybe a bit more of a surprise. Pickford doesn't get many injuries and a loss of form seems very very unlikely nowadays, but we need someone reliable as backup and someone who is happy with the role of understudy is a must. Ideally it would be someone at the beginning of their career rather than the end.

Right decision although slightly surprised by the goalkeepers, thought Virginia looked promising when called up and Begovic was the obligatory 3rd choice.
Unless they're thinking one of the guys out on loan has the makings of a no.2 the lad at Blackpool has Tyrer has been getting good reports after a poor start but he's 23 so suspect he would be looking fir game time rather then sit on the bench. Previous Message
