as Willo noted. The scenario that has emerged in recent years appears to be that a combination of more PL money, investment by new owners in a greater variety of clubs and innovative new business models (Brighton, Brentford etc) has somewhat flattened the competitive landscape between the top three and bottom three. Positions in this long middle arenow more unpredictable, which is both bad and good news for us. We cannot simply assumed that a bit of investment will see us challenging for top 10, but on the other hand it looks like we will achieve 13th or 14th with our current very average squad. At the bottom, the pattern has been promotion/relegation yo yo, with an occasional escapee (e.g. Forest). I can't see that changing, but if, in one year, it did, jeopardy for those in the middle would necessarily increase. Previous Message
…The Guardian podcast used to call 7th place (which was where we generally pinged about for a few seasons.
If we’re able to compete on that eponymous position then we’ll be doing really really well. Really well. Onwards and upwards!! Previous Message
Now this one is nearly over had a quick browse at the the table and normally there are a couple of teams who you think will struggle.
I think we need to improve greatly rather than the steady increase that seemed the consensus.
Below probably only wolves look like they pull be down there again minus cunha
Spurs and Utd will spend enough to. Limb the table , westham not sure about .
I am struggling to see who pit of the teams above us slip down the league.
With the 3 promoted teams being do poor over the last few seasons its enabled the Brentfords,Fulham and Bournemouths to build and consolidate.
Of the three coming up I suspect Leeds will splash the cash in an attempt to stay up but the other two probably joint faves to go down...here's to a good summer.
