Plenty of sound/logical managerial choices, plenty of terrific players based on reputation/performance up to then, Brands seemed great on paper, etc etc. Just offset by a complete lack of coherent approach, patience and terrible signings.

He wouldn't be the first billionaire lunatic to do this and eventually stumble on the right formula. You could argue only FFP held all that back in the end.

Can't see many not remembering him with some respect for BMD alone. The club also did some great work in the community during his time too.
