I think it depends a lot on how he sees his career served best. He can look at Hojlund, signed for 70 million and already looking like being on his way out. Of course he would be better paid there but I reckon TFG would be willing to go high, like record high on him so it's not like he'd be a pauper. He'll be set for life either way.
Emegha is another interesting name we have been linked with. Tall and lanky and quickest forward in Europe's top leagues apparently. Still a bit raw but I'm sure there are plenty of interest in him as well.
I do still think it's much more likely he goes somewhere else. I suspect there are quite a few clubs keeping their cards close to their chest.
De Bruyne I think is wistful thinking. Many clubs with European footie will be interested. Only thing going for us is the new stadium, maybe Kev wants to be part of its folklore?
As for my wishes, I wouldn't mind one or two experienced players either on free or small fee. We are losing a lot of leadership and experience in the summer no matter what. We might be without Gueye, Coleman, Young and Doucoure. I would say only Tarkowski looks like the only leader type of the rest. Couple of the guys might grow into that role but don't look like it at the moment.
By experienced I don't mean someone over 30, but could be thereabouts. I have no idea if Soucek, Brownhill or any of the other experienced players we have been linked with are that kind of personality. Brownhill would be a free transfer and probably not on massive wages, but whether he's good enough I can't say.
Apart from that I hope Moyes trusts in younger players. Club can't build for future if it again wastes money on players in their prime, paying prime money. But of course others are looking for the same. I did read somewhere Moyes wants to implement a pressing style and is looking for suitable players. Out of the players linked Soucek and Rohl both are hard workers and Rohl is apparently very good with his pressing.
Fellows is an interesting name. One of the best players in the Championship at 22. Not slow, but no rocket either so he won't solve our lack of pace. But wonderful crosser and good defensively. Definitely something to work on, especially if the rumoured 10 million price tag is true.
In any case we need a bunch. There's no going around it. I do think we will sign one or two marquee signings just to make the team more competitive and hopefully Moyes & co find a couple of cheaper gems.
There are many really good players on expiring contracts but most will look for bigger clubs (David, Sane, Tah). But some names that might be realistic: Tyrick Mitchell, Angel Gomes, Walker-Peters, Ola Aina, Tete (maybe a bit too injury-prone?), aforementioned Brownhill etc. Not every signing will be, or need to be exciting. Hope we sign couple of those, too, though. Previous Message
De Bruyne - He'd instantly be our best player and boost our profile and pulling power. His signing combined with BMD could well see us compete with teams that can offer european footbal for signings. Wouldn't be cheap but i doubt he'd get anywhere near what hes currently on at City anywhere, apart from Saudi. Is he a Moyes 10? no, but i'd love to think he is willing to play someone like Kevin in that role.
Liam Delap - Has any other non everton player signed that wall on Goodison?
