They think that writing poetry and stuff and talking like the club is something of mythology is perfectly normal.

And they’ve all been infected by it. ESPECIALLY the southern reds who don’t often go the match. They think they have an affinity with the city. But they probably take the piss out of scousers with their mates.

I grew up like many of us in a mixed family- nearly as many reds as blues.

They weren’t different or weird. Just people who liked a pint and going the match.

Then their overwhelming success and the media madness that followed it turned them into something… odd. And worse.

I live in London so what do I know but I can’t help thinking that Tarkowski goal means more to me - in the street end - than their title does to a lot of them.
