As someone who started going regularly since around 1991 I have had far more lows then highs.
The move is overdue, the new place in my view is exceptional and coupled with the new ownership, I genuinely feel like the new era could be very special.
Exciting times. Previous Message
It's the weirdest thing. I'm starting to think my love of Everton is bound up in my love of Goodison Park. I was obsessed with the place as a kid. I could sit and look at photographs of the place for hours, especially the main stand.
I am trying to imagine next season, when we are playing at this HUGE new place down the docks, and I can already feel something slipping away. Obviously, it's still Everton. But it's not the Everton I fell in love with, and it's not the sport I fell in love with.
I also think the Tarkowski goal against Liverpool was the end of something. I DESPERATELY couldn't face losing the last Goodison derby and ending up with an overall losing record there to them. The euphoria when we saved that game was at the levels I used to feel as a kid. Since then, nothing. I haven't really cared much whether we win or lose a match, which is unheard of for me.
Oh well, it doesn't really matter if it does slip away, I've got the warm memories of when it was like the centre of my universe! That'll do me.
