They wouldn’t play games with daft ko times & dates if they did (& yes, I know it’s for the tv £, but still - once you’ve sucked the Devil’s cock…..)
I have a suspicion a lot of people will do 1-2 seasons in BMD at twice the price they used to pay & then start to slip away & just pick their games instead.
The cost of going is only going one way now, & to be fair we’ve had it better than a lot of other clubs in that respect to date.
(An old fart writes) It’s not the game it used to be, & paying people £50k a week to sit in the stands & not play because they feeling a tad stressed makes me go “meh!” Previous Message
It's the weirdest thing. I'm starting to think my love of Everton is bound up in my love of Goodison Park. I was obsessed with the place as a kid. I could sit and look at photographs of the place for hours, especially the main stand.
I am trying to imagine next season, when we are playing at this HUGE new place down the docks, and I can already feel something slipping away. Obviously, it's still Everton. But it's not the Everton I fell in love with, and it's not the sport I fell in love with.
I also think the Tarkowski goal against Liverpool was the end of something. I DESPERATELY couldn't face losing the last Goodison derby and ending up with an overall losing record there to them. The euphoria when we saved that game was at the levels I used to feel as a kid. Since then, nothing. I haven't really cared much whether we win or lose a match, which is unheard of for me.
Oh well, it doesn't really matter if it does slip away, I've got the warm memories of when it was like the centre of my universe! That'll do me.
losing just a little more faith every day, and credibility too apparently
