all the more so for a club that is not competing for trophies in a meaningful way.
Dyche's team especially this season was unwatchable, and set up to be so.
And I'm never been a Moyes fan boy either, but we are more watchable now. Forest away in particular we were all over them.

just like they were ultra positive about Lampard because 1/ he wasn't Benitez and 2/ they'd decided that Vitor Pereira, who is currently on the back of 6 consecutive victories, wasn't good enough for us
Look where that got us
I defended Dyche a lot because my issue was with the squad, we'd sold £200m of attacking players in the last 3 years and replaced them with loans and frees. After Moyes 1st 4 games I was being told I was wrong. Even though its not unusual for a new manager to get 110% out of his new players it's impossible for it to continue and the last 9/10 games have shown us that we desperately need young, hungry, attacking pacy players
If we were to go into next season with exactly the same players then we would be a bottom 6 side and even that would have us overachieving
Moyes is a manager who overachieves and so is Dyche Previous Message
...I'd much prefer to just look at where we are now and look forward to where we're hopefully going with positivity and optimism - that in itself has been a rarity for the past 30 years!
You can talk about points on the board and xG and number 8s vs number 10s and any number of other statisics, but for me it all boils down to the overall feel of things moving forwards, and for me everything has been far more positive and enjoyable since Moyes walked through the door, and I'm ending this season and going into the summer with a sense of optimism, not just because of Moyes but because of all the other factors involved, the biggest of which are obviously the new stadium and the new ownership.
I can't be bothered to analyse all the minutiae, or get wound up about "what ifs" - let's just see where this new-look Everton goes. I'm not expecting it to be an overnight transformation after 30+ years of mismanagement, but I am hopeful of seeing positive gradual changes in all areas both on and off the pitch, and - based on their actions so far - both the manager and the new owners have my trust in enabling us to do that. .....in the last couple weeks I have picked up the same kind of noise on X regarding Moyes that became endemic regarding Dyche.
It hasn't taken long for the most hardcore of moaners to decide he's dour, negative, unambitious etc.
And in fairness the results are now even-ing out after a great start. Many did point out at the time that Moyes probably wouldn't approach things so much differently to Dyche with this squad.
Personally I think we've improved, but then last season we also did so in autumn under Dyche after we got the points deduction. We'll likely end up with slightly less ( earned ) points this season than last and a lower XG, XGA and XPts.
Don't get me wrong, it was time for Dyche to move on and Moyes is probably what we need to stabilise.
But he is going to come under pressure quickly if we don't improve next season. And rightly or wrongly, ditching a fans favourite in Alcaraz would not help his cause one bit, should he do so.
