I like the lad at Wolves, Strand Larsen.

I also think there's a very good CF in Hojlund at United.

We're talking upwards of £50m for that position and all represent a gamble of sorts.

It's a necessity however if we wish to climb the table.

Almost any expensive striker is a gamble.

I think getting DCL signed up on a new deal is a crucial insurance policy, plus I think Moyes could help him back towards his best.

I'm not sure it's ever going to be free-flowing expansive champagne football, nor a pass a team to death style of play but it will be super organised and more dynamic than a Sean Dyche team.

We've never seen him work with a proper sizeable budget at Everton, I'm not sure he'll ever have multiple millions to chuck about but this summer and the next three or four windows will be very interesting.

I can see him going for a couple of steady hands in key positions, notably centre half and the middle of the park.

It's clear we've needed an out and out No.9 since Lukaku departed, that for me is the absolute No. 1 priority.

Then we must address our lack of pace & quality on the flanks. We need goals from those positions on a regular basis.

He'll know we need two dynamic full backs also, the Premier League demands that now.

It's a big task that's going to take time but Moyes is a shrewd operator and he does his homework on players. The type of person is often more important than the talent itself.

I know one thing. The starting XI at the beginning of August will be a far cry from what we see now.

.....in the last couple weeks I have picked up the same kind of noise on X regarding Moyes that became endemic regarding Dyche.

It hasn't taken long for the most hardcore of moaners to decide he's dour, negative, unambitious etc.

And in fairness the results are now even-ing out after a great start. Many did point out at the time that Moyes probably wouldn't approach things so much differently to Dyche with this squad.

Personally I think we've improved, but then last season we also did so in autumn under Dyche after we got the points deduction. We'll likely end up with slightly less ( earned ) points this season than last and a lower XG, XGA and XPts.

Don't get me wrong, it was time for Dyche to move on and Moyes is probably what we need to stabilise.

But he is going to come under pressure quickly if we don't improve next season. And rightly or wrongly, ditching a fans favourite in Alcaraz would not help his cause one bit, should he do so.
