In contrast, under Moyes even against the better teams we create some chances while defense is in no way worse.
But main difference is we look like we are trying to win the matches instead of hoping for a 0-0 and if we are really lucky, scoring a solitary goal from somewhere (set piece most likely). Big reason was that the team was positioned so close to our own goal there wasn't much the single forward could do alone. Previous Message
he'd taken us as far as he could considering the limitations of the squad
But I'm saying the playing squad isn't good enough and since we had the new manager bounce, Moyes is now facing and experiencing exactly the same issues as Dyche, namely creating and scoring goals
and yes we have pulled well clear of the bottom 3 but that's as much to do with the fact that the bottom 3 have taken 15 points from a possible 135 available points
But the Everton fans are completely 2 faced when talking about the 2 managers - they are a lot closer than our fans give them credit
When Dyche started Doucoure and Harrison our fans would be frothing now despite bringing in Alcaraz there's very little mention
Our home draws with West Ham and Arsenal were treated a lot more positively than away draws at the same sides despite us needing a last minute equaliser against a poor West Ham side and a dodgy penalty against Arsenal
I love Davie Moyes from what he did in his 1st spell and I wish he'd been our manager for the last 23 years but he is going to suffer the same way as his predecessors because we've sold £200m of attacking players in the last 3 years and not replaced them
Fortunately we have and had 2 managers who actually overachieve otherwise we'd have playing championship footy 3 years ago which is when we should have gone down - 19th when we sacked Lampard and then sell Gordon for £45m without replacing him - we actually deserved to go down having survived in the penultimate week the previous season Previous Message
That we should sack Moyes and go for Iraola? That Dyche and Moyes are identical in their skill level and added value? That managers don't matter? You post a lot of rhetorical stuff and stats, but I can't ever figure out what you're arguing for or against.
Is it something like "other football fans, who are not JC, are confused by short-term trends and don't know how to analyze the signal from the noise"? Because I don't think that's fair. This is a low-bandwidth message board, not a university seminar on how to populate and quantify a thirty-factor model of management ability while keeping in mind all the rules and heuristics of data science and statistics. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th and 7th
this is the run of games that got Dyche the sack
Unfortunately we can't play Leicester at home every week Previous Message

after Moyes initial new manager bounce we are now 1 win in 9
Form guide
6 games
Moyes 5
Dyche 6
8 games
Moyes 7
Dyche 7
10 games
Moyes 11
Dyche 8
12 games
Moyes 15
Dyche 12
14 games
Moyes 21
Dyche 16
there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between Moyes the messiah and Dyche the utterly shit manager
We are also now 5 goals in 8 games despite Moyes having a lot more attacking options open to him than Dyche did towards the end - 2 of those 8 games were against sides with the poorest defensive records outside of the bottom 3
Moyes seems to be following the Dyche methods of trying to keep a clean sheet and hoping to get something down the other end Previous Message

Moyes has already told us why Doucoure starts ahead of him
Doucoure was preferred to Carlos Alcaraz yesterday against Forest.
Despite there being a chance he won’t be at the club next season, with his contract expiring, Doucoure remains a big player for Moyes.
After yesterday’s game, Moyes spoke about Doucoure and what he brings to the table – and it’s clear he really loves what he brings to the table, and feels he is somewhat underappreciated.
He said: “Good for Doucs because he does an awful lot of work for the team, which sometimes goes unnoticed"
Here's Moyes on Phil Neville from way back in 2009
‘What he does often goes unnoticed, but he has played a major part in what we’ve achieved because he shows the other players what is required" Previous Message
if we were worried about activating the clause then just don't start him in matches
Bring him on at half time
At least let us see what he has to offer
But as things stand Doucoure has always been selected ahead of him Previous Message
he's done more than 45 minutes 5 times and has played in several positions including on the wing. He's been a sub 8 times.
of the games he has played less than 45 minutes, he has played 13', 9', 27', 15, 23 and 11 minutes.
In his limited playing time he's looked technically our best midfielder, by some distance. Previous Message
Cant see there being a big queue for him in the summer either!
